Finding Shade

'Finding Shade' is an original oil painting on MDF 6mm panel size A3 11.7"x 16.5" Under the shade of a tree, It's the only place to be on a hot sweltering summers day in the Lake District, England. The sheep and goat know best, keeping cool while they clearly had one eye on me as I passed them by heading up onto a mountain top. I just loved the contrasting colours of cool greens and warm greens in this scene, only broken by the woolly whites of fleece. I could imagine reading a book under that tree keeping cool, protected by the guardian like branches of leaves above from the sun, just listening to the birds and distant cows.
